On September 4, as part of the Eastern Economic Forum, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin gave permission to launch the largest "dry port" in our country. Container trains dispatched from the terminal will head towards the largest terminal in the Moscow region, TLC "Elektrougli".
In the future, the capacity of the TLC should exceed 1 million TEU, which will allow both to increase the throughput capacity of the general-use railway infrastructure and to enhance the efficiency of seaports. Modern terminal, storage, and customs infrastructure will enable providing shippers with service that meets the highest world standards.
The TLC has implemented a technological model that provides for working with extended-length trains and trains with gondola cars. The total length of the constructed track railway infrastructure will exceed 100 km. From the design stage, a circular scheme of traffic organization was laid down due to the connection to two Trans-Siberian stations at once, which will ensure the maximum throughput capacity of the terminal. Also, to minimize the empty run of the rolling stock, a wagon repair depot will operate on the basis of the "dry port", where a full range of wagon repair services will be provided with minimal time costs.
The implementation of the project will contribute to the strengthening of the country's transport and logistics infrastructure and will create additional opportunities for economic growth in the Far Eastern region. The effective operation of TLC "Artëm" will create the best conditions for achieving the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation in the framework of the May Decree on national development goals, related to increasing the volume of transportation along international transport corridors, including towards China.
The project is implemented with the support of the Government of Russia, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Petrovich Trutnev, the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, the leadership of Primorsky Krai, Russian Railways, VEB.RF, and SBER.
According to the words of the General Director of LLC "FinInvest" Alexander Kakhidze: "With the launch of TLC 'Artëm', a new era in the development of Russia's logistics is opening."
